Girl band QWER set a new milestone by winning their first-ever music show trophy since debuting.

On October 9th, QWER took 1st place on MBC M, MBC every1's Show Champion with their mini-album Algorithm's Blossom’s title track, My Name is Malguem.

This win, achieved 358 days after their debut, is especially notable as QWER secured the top spot without even appearing on the show, a rare and impressive accomplishment.

It demonstrates both the musical quality and widespread popularity of the group.

Through their agency, QWER shared their thoughts: "We’re so grateful for this precious gift of a music show win," they said, adding, "Thanks to all the love for My Name is Malguem, we’ve been having such happy days." They also expressed their future goals: "We’ll work even harder so our music can reach more people."

My Name is Malguem carries a hopeful message about overcoming pain and moving forward.

Its upbeat yet sentimental melody is characteristic of QWER’s style. The song has also been praised for the collaboration with (G)I-DLE's Soyeon, who participated in writing, composing, and arranging, creating a special synergy with QWER.

This widespread success highlights how well QWER’s music resonates with the public.

Music industry insiders are optimistic about QWER’s achievements.

One industry insider commented, "QWER, as a girl band with a unique style, achieving widespread popularity is significant. It will also contribute to the diversification of the K-pop market."

Another expert noted, "QWER's success shows that there is demand for talented, musically skilled girl bands.

This could pave the way for more diverse types of K-pop groups in the future."

On October 10th at 6 p.m., QWER will release a documentary about the production of their mini-album Algorithm’s Blossom through their official YouTube channel.

Fans can look forward to getting a behind-the-scenes look at QWER’s creative process and a glimpse of the members’ true personalities.
