K-pop star IU wants to be a grandma who fills up the Olympic Gymnastics Arena

K-pop star IU has revealed her dream of becoming a 70-year-old grandma who still fills up the Olympic Gymnastics Arena.

The singer made the revelation during her "2024 IU H.E.R. WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN SEOUL" on March 10 at the KSPO DOME in Seoul, South Korea.

It was IU's first solo concert since her "The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun" concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in 2022.

"I felt like I moved more during this concert than I did during the one at the Olympic Main Stadium," IU told fans, who she hadn't seen in person for a year and a half.

IU said her mega-hit song "Night Letter" is about her dream of becoming a grandma who still fills up the arena at 70. "It's a song that I love so much that it will never be left out of my concert setlist," she said.

"When I sing this song together with my fans, their voices mix with mine and I feel like all the bad things are filtered out and purified through songs like 'Knee,' 'Heart,' and 'Night Letter,'" she added.

IU performed a perfect concert, belting out her all-time hits, including all the songs from her latest album "The Winning," which was released recently.

During the concert, IU surprised fans by announcing that she will be holding another solo concert at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul on September 21 and 22.

After successfully wrapping up her Seoul concerts, IU will continue her world tour in cities including Yokohama, Taipei, Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, London, Berlin, Bangkok, Osaka, Newark, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Rosemont, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
