On the 3rd, Lee Chae-yeon held a showcase for the release of her third mini-album ‘SHOWDOWN’ at Ilchi Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul.
During the showcase, she performed the title track 'Don’t.'
The term that best describes Lee Chae-yeon is "Performance Queen."
She has consistently proven her dancing skills through various tracks since her participation in 'Street Woman Fighter.'
This earned her the title, and fans eagerly anticipated what new performance she would showcase this time.
Although Lee Chae-yeon has always lived up to expectations with her performances, she admits to feeling the pressure.
"I'm grateful to be known as a good dancer, but it would be a lie to say there's no pressure. I always need to show something new, and I'm afraid of hearing that it's the same dance, same performance as before. I put a lot of thought into the choreography, including the movements and the number of dancers, to ensure it’s impactful and captivating," she said.
Lee Chae-yeon’s efforts are evident in her latest album, where she not only participated in the choreography of the title track 'Don’t' but also choreographed the highlight medley video for the track 'Standing On My Own.'
Her involvement goes beyond choreography.
She contributed to the lyrics and even presented her own planning ideas to enhance the album's overall quality. "I took part in the lyrics and choreography, and I also suggested ideas to the company.
Although I'm not good with computers, I printed photos and wrote everything by hand to present my ideas.
This album reflects many of my thoughts, and I'm confident in its outcome," she shared.
Regarding her participation in writing the lyrics for the title track 'Don’t' and the song 'Dreaming,' she explained, "I didn't initially plan to write lyrics, but I wanted to bring more flavor and impact to these songs.
'Dreaming' especially conveys my feelings towards my fans. I wrote most of it at night, thinking about them. I hope they listen to it before bed."
The mini-album 'SHOWDOWN' signifies a showdown, representing the conflict between different facets of her persona.
It captures contrasting styles and moods, further highlighting her versatility.
Lee Chae-yeon is now embracing a new title, "All-Rounder Queen." Reflecting on this, she said, "If I had heard this title a year or two ago, I would have felt burdened and insecure.
However, through experiences like 'Insadong Suljji,' I've improved my speaking skills and participated more in my albums.
Seeing my growth, I think it's fair to call myself an 'All-Rounder Queen.'"
Besides music, Lee Chae-yeon has also ventured into acting, participating in an upcoming web drama.
Her goal as the "All-Rounder Queen" is to make it into the Top 100 charts. "I'm happy just to be active, but I want my fans and parents to be happy too.
I hope to enter the Top 100 and stay there for a long time," she expressed.
