Girl group LE SSERAFIM is earning praise from the public as they continue to perform at various fall university festivals, silencing previous criticisms about their skills.
This marks the group’s first university festival performance since the vocal controversy that arose during their Coachella stage in April, and they have captured attention with their improved live performance.
Starting with Sogang University on the 27th of last month, LE SSERAFIM went on to perform at other universities such as Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Gwangju University, Hanyang University ERICA Campus, and Hoseo University Asan Campus.
On the 2nd, they also performed at Tongmyong University and Yeungnam University, continuing their busy schedule.
Their performance, which lasts around 40 minutes, features signature tracks like "ANTIFRAGILE," "UNFORGIVEN," "Smart," "Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard’s Wife," and "CRAZY."
Despite the demanding nature of the setlist, the members showcased more stable and enhanced live vocals than before, earning enthusiastic responses from the audience.
In particular, not only members like Kim Chaewon and Huh Yunjin, who already had above-average skills, but also Hong Eunchae and Sakura, who previously had some vocal weaknesses, showed significant improvement.
Despite being only three years into their debut, LE SSERAFIM displayed stage manners far beyond their years.
The members actively engaged with the audience, elevating the festive atmosphere, which was met with a chorus of singing from the crowd.
This participation in university festivals is interpreted as LE SSERAFIM’s way of confronting the vocal controversy from their Coachella performance head-on.
The group, which had skipped the university festival season in May due to the controversy, is now actively proving their growth and improved skills in this fall festival season.
LE SSERAFIM’s leader, Kim Chaewon, had openly addressed the Coachella performance at the comeback showcase in August, saying,
"There were many regrets, but we learned a lot both as a team and individually."
Her honest attitude helped shift public opinion in a more positive direction.
One expert commented, "LE SSERAFIM’s approach of not avoiding the controversy but confronting it is impressive.
It’s a true demonstration of their ‘fighting spirit’ story." Another professional remarked, "Proving their improved skills through real-time live performances at university festivals is a very effective strategy.
This could mark the beginning of their recognition as a talented group beyond just an idol group."
LE SSERAFIM’s performances at these university festivals are seen as a great example of the growth process of K-pop idol groups.
Their attitude of tackling challenges head-on instead of avoiding them sets a positive example for other groups.
The industry is now focused on how LE SSERAFIM will continue to grow through this festival season and what achievements they will make in both the domestic and international music markets.
Their journey is expected to set a new growth model for K-pop idol groups.
