Stray Kids to Perform at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards for the Second Consecutive Year... “Making New K-pop History”

Stray Kids will take the stage at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) for the second consecutive year, reaffirming their global influence as a K-pop group.

Billboard announced on social media on the 9th that Stray Kids will perform at the awards ceremony, which will take place on the 12th in Los Angeles.

Nominations and Their Significance

Stray Kids have garnered notable nominations this year.

As the first 4th-generation K-pop boy group, they have earned a nomination in the Top Duo/Group category, competing against global icons like Blink-182 and Coldplay.

Additionally, in the Top K-pop Album category, they made history with two simultaneous nominations for their albums “樂-STAR” and “ATE”.

They are also nominated for the Top Global K-pop Artist category, opening up the possibility of wins across 4 major categories.

Dominating the Billboard Charts

Stray Kids’ achievements on the Billboard charts are particularly noteworthy.

Starting with “ODDINARY” in 2022, they have consecutively topped the Billboard 200 chart with five albums, including “MAXIDENT”, “★★★★★ (5-STAR)”, “樂-STAR”, and “ATE”.

Their latest title track “Chk Chk Boom” entered the Hot 100, a key indicator of mainstream popularity, marking their third entry on the chart following “락 (樂)” and “Lose My Breath.”

Global Award Domination

The group’s global prominence has been solidified through major award wins.

In 2023, they took home the Best K-pop trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards for the title track “S-Class” from “★★★★★ (5-STAR)”.

They added more accolades at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Furthermore, “SLASH”, featured on the soundtrack of the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine”, was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

Future Activities

Stray Kids are set to release SKZHOP HIPTAPE “合 (HOP)” and its title track “Walkin On Water” on December 13th.

During their performance at the 2024 BBMAs, the group will showcase two of this year’s biggest hits, delivering their signature, unmatched stage presence.

Their participation in the 2024 BBMAs is expected to mark a major milestone, illustrating Stray Kids’ growth beyond K-pop into the global mainstream music scene.

With nominations in major categories and a highly anticipated performance, the group is set to further solidify their influence in the global music industry.
