The group NewJeans has set a new record in the K-pop market by achieving five consecutive million-seller albums with their Japanese debut single.
According to their agency, ADOR, on the 11th, NewJeans' Japanese debut single 'Supernatural,' released on the 21st of last month, recorded a total of 1,021,730 copies sold (combined standard and Weverse editions) as per the Circle Chart's June album chart. With this achievement, NewJeans has made every album released since their debut in July 2022 a million-seller.
NewJeans' first EP 'New Jeans' and single album 'OMG' each sold over 1.6 million and 1.66 million copies, respectively, while their second EP 'Get Up' sold over 2.14 million copies, becoming the group's first double million-seller.
Their double single 'How Sweet,' released in May, also sold over 1.12 million copies, bringing their total album sales to approximately 7.55 million copies.
In addition to album sales, NewJeans has shown strong performance on music charts. The title track 'Supernatural' has maintained the number one spot on Bugs' daily chart for nine consecutive days (July 2-10) and reached a peak of fifth place on Melon's 'Top 100' chart. The B-side track 'Right Now' also secured positions on major domestic music charts.
'Supernatural' ranked 22nd on Billboard's latest Global (Excl. US) chart (dated July 13) and 34th on the Global 200, maintaining a spot on the chart for two consecutive weeks. 'Right Now' ranked 120th on the Global (Excl. US) chart. Both songs also entered major Japanese music charts such as Spotify Japan and Apple Music Japan.
