2024 June New Drama Lineup

▶︎ Lifetime High School Return Of A Gangster◀︎

A 47-year-old gangster who wants to go to college gets possessed by a bullied high school student.


Based on a web novel, "A Gangster Becomes a High School Student!" is a fantasy human drama adapted from the BL original, focusing on the plot and development.

After struggling with scheduling, the first two episodes were released on Wavve, TVing, and Watcha on Wednesday, May 29.
It seemed childish at first but turned out to be quite enjoyable!

The story begins with Kim Deuk-pal, a gangster from the Seven Stars gang who wants to go to college, saving a high school senior from suicide on an overpass, only to be possessed by his body.

Lee Seo-jin plays gangster Kim Deuk-pal, while Yoon Chan-young plays Song Yi-heon, the high school student Kim Deuk-pal possesses.

Yoon Chan-young, who started as a child actor, hit a home run in "All of Us Are Dead" and continues to build his filmography.

To observe Lee Seo-jin's habits, Yoon Chan-young watched "Three Meals a Day" repeatedly and effectively portrays his role.

"A Gangster Becomes a High School Student" will be pre-released on domestic OTT platforms every Wednesday and will air on Lifetime in the US on June 12.

▶︎ tvN The Player 2: Master of Swindlers ◀︎

Stronger swindlers who turn scams into art are back!


This is the second series of the 2018 OCN drama "Player," featuring even stronger swindlers.

The original cast of Season 1, including Song Seung-heon, Lee Si-eon, and Tae Won-seok, is joined by Oh Yeon-seo and Jang Gyu-ri, completing a fresh lineup.

Jang Gyu-ri plays the new driver, who grew up in different orphanages from her sister Jung Soo-jung (A-ryeong from Season 1).
After reuniting, they part ways again, and she joins the team to avenge her sister by eliminating Jeffrey, who killed her sister.

The mysterious and influential character played by Oh Yeon-seo adds to the team's powerful dynamic.

"The Player 2: War of the Swindlers" will air on tvN, following "Lovely Runner," starting on June 3.

A unique high-teen scandal set in a prestigious school where the top 0.01% rule with power and wealth.


Directed by Bae Hyun-jin, who co-directed "Alchemy of Souls," "Big Mouth," and "Start-Up," and starring rising actors Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, and Kim Jae-won.

The story follows a transfer student with a secret who disrupts the hierarchy at a high school where the elite few rule by order and law.

The term "Hierarchy" refers to the structured levels within an organization or group.

In a high school mirroring the adult world where wealth and status dictate order, watch the unique high-teen scandal unfold in "Hierarchy," premiering on Netflix on June 7.

▶︎ JTBC My Sweet Mobster ◀︎

A heartwarming and exciting tale of a playful man and a playful woman.


Based on a web novel, JTBC's new Wednesday-Thursday drama "My Sweet Mobster" was announced in 2022 and is finally airing now.

Han Sun-hwa, known for her charming character in "Work Later, Drink Now," stars as the female lead.

She plays "Mini-sister," a kids' creator spreading love and happiness to children, who holds memories of an older brother from her childhood.

Um Tae-goo, a former gang leader disbanding gangs nationwide, plays the male lead, while Kwon Yool, a prosecutor and Mini-sister's enthusiastic subscriber, rounds out the cast for a surprising romance.

"My Sweet Mobster" premieres on JTBC on June 12.

▶︎ JTBC Miss Night and Day ◀︎

A mysterious woman with a dual life, different day and night.


JTBC's new weekend drama "Miss Night and Day" features Jung Eun-ji, known for her role in "Work Later, Drink Now."

This fantasy romantic comedy revolves around a job seeker trapped in old age and a prosecutor entangled with a woman who changes from a senior intern (Lee Jung-eun) by day to a 20-something (Jung Eun-ji) by night.

Choi Jin-hyuk plays the capable prosecutor.

"Miss Night and Day," starring Lee Jung-eun, Jung Eun-ji, and Choi Jin-hyuk, premieres on June 15 on JTBC.


▶︎ KBS2 Scandal ◀︎

"I want it all, everything is in my hands!" A woman who wanted to own the world.


The follow-up to "Without Blood or Tears," KBS's daily drama "Scandal" marks the return of actress Han Chae-young after a long hiatus.

The story centers around conspiracy, betrayal, love, and revenge surrounding the mysterious death of a famous drama production company representative.

Written by Hwang Soon-young, known for her works like "Drama Special," "Couple Clinic: Love and War," "Ruby Ring," "Cuckoo’s Nest," and "Red Shoes," known for dealing with provocative themes and depicting the fates of characters.

"Scandal," a passionate melodrama about a woman who wanted to own the world and another woman who stakes everything on revenge, premieres on June 17, Monday.

▶︎ TV Chosun DNA Lover ◀︎

A romantic comedy where finding a partner through genetics sets all senses in motion.


Directed by Sung Chi-wook ("Tomorrow," "Kairos") and written by Jung Soo-mi ("Born Again"), "DNA Lover" is set to air on TV Chosun in June.

Choi Si-won stars as an obstetrician-gynecologist with high social intelligence, opposite Jung In-sun, who plays a genetic researcher obsessed with finding the perfect genetic match after numerous failed relationships.

Also starring Jung Yoo-jin as Choi Si-won's cool ex-girlfriend and Lee Tae-hwan as a handsome firefighter who always answers Jung In-sun's calls.

The romantic comedy "DNA Lover" features a unique cast and will air in June on TV Chosun.
