LE SSERAFIM, a K-pop girl group, recently performed at the renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States.
Despite their dazzling stage presence, the group has been criticized for their lack of live singing skills.
LE SSERAFIM prepared an unreleased song, "1-800-hot-n-fun," and invited famous American musician Nile Rodgers as a guest for their title track "UNFORGIVEN." However, their subpar vocal abilities overshadowed their efforts.
While there is no disagreement about their dancing skills, the majority of comments point out their inadequate live singing.
One netizen, with the username Boss*, shared their thoughts on LE SSERAFIM's Coachella performance, stating, "Congratulations on making it to Coachella in record time, but it was definitely a stage that lacked vocal ability.
" They added, "The non-stop dancing until the middle of the performance was tolerable, but from the 'Smart' song onwards, it completely fell apart, which was unfortunate.
It's a fundamental issue that's hard to overcome for a group hastily put together by a large company like HYBE, focusing on visuals and performance."
Some netizens believe that if LE SSERAFIM had gained more experience on large stages like world tours before performing at Coachella, this disaster could have been avoided.
LE SSERAFIM's agency, HYBE subsidiary Source Music, released a statement on the 15th, saying,
"LE SSERAFIM successfully completed their Coachella debut stage," and "The audience also enjoyed the performance, cheering and moving to the rhythm."
