FT Island Releases 7th Full Album 'Serious' After 17 Years Since Debut... "Showcasing Musical Tenacity"

Band FT Island (Lee Hong-gi, Lee Jae-jin, Choi Min-hwan) celebrates their 17th anniversary with the release of their 7th full album 'Serious,' showcasing their musical tenacity.

At 6 PM on July 10th, FT Island released their 7th full album 'Serious' on various music streaming sites. This album is their first new release in 10 months since their 9th mini album 'Sage' in September last year, and their first full album in 8 years since their 6th album 'Where's the truth?' released in 2016.

'Serious' includes a total of 10 tracks, including the title track 'Serious' and the double title track 'BURN IT.'
In this album, all members participated in the writing and composing of all the songs, emphasizing FT Island's unique musical identity.

The title track 'Serious' features a prominent choir sound, starting with a minimal sound and gradually transforming into a grand choir form. The lyrics express a determined commitment to their unchanging musical goals, with lines like "I know 각오했던 Hard and wrong way/짙어진 확신은 더 큰불을 피워 내/Why so Serious 감출 수 없어."

The double title track 'BURN IT,' pre-released on June 27th, features a repetitive bass riff, intense vocals from the members, and a languid chorus melody. Through this song, FT Island expresses their determination to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles and seek new beginnings.

In addition to the title tracks, the album includes various songs such as '내게 전해 줄 노래 (Letter to Myself),' the Korean version of 'AQUA,' 'Sunrise Yellow,' 'T.I.V (Tears In Vain),' 'INFERNO,' the Korean version of 'My Birthday,' '나침반 (Journey),' and '理由 (Reason),' showcasing FT Island's broad musical spectrum.

FT Island has declared their intention to break the various stereotypes surrounding them through this album.

They aim to shed the world's predefined image of themselves and boldly present their true selves throughout the album.

The music video for 'Serious,' released alongside the album, features the members navigating through a dark space towards the light, symbolizing FT Island's journey of persistence in music despite numerous challenges since their debut in 2007.

Meanwhile, FT Island is actively engaging with domestic and international fans through solo tour performances and various festival appearances. To commemorate their comeback, they will hold a listening session event on July 10th to reconnect with fans.

Music critics have praised the album, stating, "FT Island's latest album simultaneously showcases the maturity and initial passion of a band with 17 years of experience.
An album filled with self-composed tracks by the members highlights their musical prowess and sincerity."

FT Island's latest comeback exemplifies the enduring power of a band that has continued its musical journey over a long period, reaffirming the band's significance and importance within the K-pop industry.
