From Idols to Icons: The New Paths of Former K-Pop Stars

Many former idol celebrities continue to bring joy to their fans through various activities in different fields.

Choa, a former member of the group AOA, recently revealed her plans to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter.
In a video on her YouTube channel, she shared the difficulties she faced after concluding her idol activities and searching for a new beginning.
Choa expressed her desire to focus more on music production and convey her emotions and stories through her songs.
During her time with AOA, she had numerous hit songs like "Short Skirt," "Short Hair," and "Heart Attack." In 2017, she took a break due to health issues but started reconnecting with her fans through YouTube.

Kim Sejeong, a former member of Gugudan, is also actively pursuing a career as a solo singer and actress. She was a member of I.O.I through Mnet's "Produce 101" and has since appeared in dramas such as "School 2017," "Business Proposal," and "The Uncanny Counter," building her acting career. Additionally, she continues to showcase her singing skills through various OST participations and album releases.


Rowoon, a former member of SF9 who transitioned into acting, has been recognized for his acting skills, taking on lead roles in various dramas.
In a recent YouTube interview, he expressed that he finds the path of an actor more enjoyable and wants to live his one and only life to the fullest.

Another example is Mir, a former member of MBLAQ, who became a YouTuber and runs a channel called "Bangga Family" with his sister Go Eun-ah. He shares behind-the-scenes stories from the entertainment industry and his personal life, maintaining communication with his fans.

The challenges taken on by artists who have completed their group activities and are now pursuing their own paths continue to provide fans with new content and meaningful activities.
